Trojans killing me

I have read some messages and tried to rid my computer if these nasty things and some other crap I found on my computer. I disconnected my home computer from the internet in case that was a problem. I am using my laptop to post this info. I have been trying, with no luck, over the last 4 days to remove this crap.

The following software I used before using AVG and Hijackthis.


The following is a report from AVG Anti-Spyware (used to be Ewido) and then a report from hijackthis, which I renamed the exe to hjt.exe, which I used after using the above mentioned software.

I am going to restart my computer, with internet connection disabled, and run another scan. If anything comes back I will post a reply.

Welcome to the forum, if you are not receving help elsewhere, I see Smitfraud in the AVG scan and other junk, let do this first.

1) Thanks to S!Ri, and any others who helped with this fix.

Please download SmitfraudFix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip) (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Follow the instructions in item number three (3) in this link: http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/33/
to Deactivate the Resident Shield, it will block the changes we must make.

5) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

7) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drvsij.dll <<< delete that file

8) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running now.

Hi, thank you for your reply and help.

I am going to enable my internet connection and see what happens and then update java. OK, I restarted the computer after updating Java. Start up was a little slower than I remember. But appears OK. Going to open IE and see what happens. Looks to be OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Doing a HJT scan now.

Start up was a little slower than I rememberCleaning Prefetch will slow you a little for a boot or two until Windows repopulates, here is a tutorial for using the ATF-Cleaner in the future.

Smitfraudfix did locate at least one item, follow the balance of the instruction, this tutorial will help:

Run both the "Clean" and the "Optional" functions, this information applies to the "Optional"
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Your HJT log looks great, post the results of the Smitfraudfix and let me know how the computer is running now.

That's good to here, good job with those complex instructions:bigthumb: Let's finish up like this: System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.
