Cannot remove Vx2.a!

Hi out there!

Since I´ve installed Spybot some weeks ago, I´ve repeatedly come across the same problem:

Spybot finds an entry in Browser Helper Objects calles Vx2.a (Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\BrowserHelperObjects{00000000-5eb9-11d5-9d45-009027c14662})
I´ve tried removing it several times- both manually and with Spybot- but every time I reboot it reappears. Rebooting in Safe Mode didn't help either, because Spybot didn´t recognize the entry in Safe Mode and removing it manually couldn´t prevent it from turning up again.
Since I don´t recognize anything unusual while working on my computer, it might just be the remains of something removed long ago - couldn`t see it doing any harm, so don`t panic! :eek:

I´ve run an online Virus Scan twice, but I somehow can`t get it to send me a complete report, it just tells me no viruses where found (first time I`ve seemed to pick up several browser hijackers and something called "bumblebee" while trying to run the scan from the links posted in your "Before you post"-forum...in this case, Bit Defender Virus Scan and Trend Micro Online Scan. But I since I don`t usually use MS Internet Explorer and sure didn`t check the settings, it may have been some other problem - not trying to blame anyone for anything :whistle: )

Please disable SpybotSD TeaTimer for now
To disable SpybotSD TeaTimer:
Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on Resident icon and Uncheck the box next to Teatimer.

Close SpyBot.
We will remind you to turn it on later

Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items If there.

Start Teatimer again and when it alerts to a change click allow, dont tick the remember desicion box.

I´ve tried following your instructions. Unfortunately I`ve checked the "remember this decision"-box some time ago...clicking "allow" all the time WAS getting on my nerves...Since I couldn´t find how to undo this, I`ve followed your instructions without unchecking the box for now, rebooted the system... and here it is again. Turn off Tea timer again (and SpyBot if its running)

While both Tea timer and SpyBot are closed
Download ResetTeaTimer.bat
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
To your desktop, run ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Since it will not be needed again delete ResetTeaTimer.bat.
Turn Tea timer back on again via SpyBots tools resident page.

Sun Java "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9" is Available:

It's very important to uninstall the old version's via addremove programs.

Oops, you´re right...really really old version. Fixed this right away. Well, such things happen if you disable automatic updates because they are getting on your nerves ;)
