Hi there - i have just tried to remove norton antivrus and have followed some steps that were given to me, but i cannot delete a folder containg the file 'AluSchedulerSvc' and also its logs.
Just wondering if anyone knew or had any suggestions on to completely remove it, as i do not want Norton anymore.
Cheers

Hi Ginley.
Could you post a HJT log so that someone can check the system to see what is on there in order to give appropiate advice.
Instructions on how to make a HJT log here:

Hi Ginley, thanks for posting your information and welcome to the forum. I see the problem files and leftover Symantec, but we need to address a hijacker first called New.Net. You can see it here:
O2 - BHO: URLLink - {4A2AACF3-ADF6-11D5-98A9-00E018981B9E} - C:\Program Files\NewDotNet\newdotnet7_22.dll and the 010 lines in your HJT log. I have never known anyone to download this junk on purpose, if you are the first, please stop and let me know. Information about the junk: http://www.cexx.org/newnet.htm
I also want to say that I do not suggest the Flashget program, and want you to have this information from CastleCops:
http://www.castlecops.com/clsid-927.html You may do what you wish with that one.
Please follow the uninstall directions in this link: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html
Though I have never had it happen, if removing the 010 lines causes as connection problem, these tools will fix that:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
You will know if it was succesful if the 010 lines are gone, post a new HJT log using "Post Reply" to stay in this same topic and we will go after your other issues.
Thanks
