I have run spybot and adaware and find nothing that seems to be the cause of a major slowdown of the computer. web loading slow and sometimes stops for a minute, then resumes. Mouse gets sticky and jumpy. CPU maxed out but memory is still free. I use memturbo to recover from memory leaks and monitor cpu usage. I am running windows98, 256M memory, 450MHz. I have uninstalled a lot of unused programs and drivers thinking they were the cause, but no improvement. Please assist. Thank you.

Hi

I dont see any of the recent malware/spyware etc

Internet problems: You might consider contacting your ISP and replacing Norton with a less resouce intensive antivirus program,

Thank you for checking it out for me. It is reassuring that there is no malware, yet the computer is still bogged down. I will have to look at other resources to find the culprit.

Thanks!

Mike
