Hello,
during a Spybot scan I get multiple warning messages from Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security Suite 2007 (that also happened with version 2006) about "Suspected spyware detected". The warnings are generated for "cmdow.exe" and "xnet.exe" that reside in C:\WINDOWS\system32\. The same happens when I search for them with my file search utility.

Searching on the internet I didn't find anything specifically bad about them other than that they could potentially be hacking tools.
What do you think I should do? Should I delete them or say PC-cillin to always ignore the particular warnings?

Hi there.

We have a few topics in this forum started by members with questions regarding Trend Micro PC-cillin.

For instance:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=8233&highlight=Trend+Micro+PC-cillin

Not knowing Trend Micro's detections, if you would like to post a Spybot S&D log so that we can take a look, please do the following:

Spybot-S&D version 1.4
Version 1.4 :Systems Supported (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html )

Close all browsers
Open SpyBot, check for and get any updates available
Check for problems and fix everything found in red
Then on the toolbar menu select mode and switch to advanced mode, on the left lower down select tools, and view report, ensure all the options are selected near the bottom except

Uncheck[ ] do not report disabled or known legitimate Items.
Uncheck[ ] Include a list of services in report.
Uncheck[ ] Include uninstall list in report.

Now select (near the top) view report.
Click export and in the 'save in' box choose a place such as your my documents folder, then in your next post near the bottom select the "browse" button; navigate to and attach or post that report.

Cheers. :)
