Help removing iexplore.exe & other random processes

[Mischwar]

I have noticed of late iexplore.exe popping up numerous times (w/ the username being system instead of hpowner normally). Also i have noticed varius processes like 1.exe, 3.exe, 5.exe, 11.exe & 8001.exe. Lastly, many different svchost.exe show up. I am not sure what all this is, but i do know it is slowing the computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. BTW i have run spybot, ad-aware, defender, etc...all to no avail.

First of thanks shelf life for helping me out. I got AVG and did what you said. below is the log. for what it is worth, I did notice the program removing "tojans" that the other programs (spybot, ad aware, defender, etc) did not locate. Thanks again

FOr XP: on the desktop double click my computer,go to tools>folder options>view> then select "show hidden files and folders", then UNcheck "hide protected operating system files " also UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" click apply to all folders, apply then ok

see if you can locate and delete these files:
svhost32.exe located here>>C:\Program Files\Microsoft\
wdfmgr32.exe located here>>C:\WINDOWS\system32

if you find them and cant delete them, do the same thing all over in safe mode, run hjt select the same three 04 items ( if they dont show in the hjt scan dont worry about it) look for and delete those two files.
you reach safe mode by tapping the f8 key during a computer restart, chsoe the first option safe mode. if you end up in safe mode run avg antispyware and your antivirus also.

reboot normally, rescan and post a new hjt log.

Shelf life...thanks for the quick response. I did what you said (log posted below). When i tried to locate the 2 files to delete, i was only ablt to find one. I actually had no files in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft folder. When i rebooted the computer I did get a few errors...both seemed to be related to the same thing. A box popped up saying IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error "The excepton unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occured in the application at location 0x7c812a5b"

The Trojan Scanner found something as well upon startup. It says that the filing file is calle dby the Windows registry at boot time: C:\Windows\system32\8001.exe. The program in the registry calling for it was HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\8001. I take it i can try to locate that in the startup folder (using msconfig) and uncheck it?

as long as its stopped and startup is disabled, it should be harmless. the virustotal list isnt very conclusive. a search with google turned up close to nothing. i say you can delete it from the C:\WINDOWS dir.
