Hi folks. Asking the pros for help on this one. Can't get them to stay gone. Scan and delete but are back when I restart. Appreciate any time/help you can give this.

No problem and thanks for the response. I'll give it a couple of more days as it's only been two. I'm trying to figure it out on my own in the meantime but I don't see anything yet that I can finger as the problem.

Make sure you read all information under all tabs so you will know where it came from and the damage it has done.

You have a badly outdated Java program, if you are not infected because of that yet, you will be, see this information:

C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\ <<< out of date, please uninsall all old version of the program and get the most recent update.

Let's proceed like this.
1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

3) Download SDFix (http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe) and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.

Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services or Registry Entries found then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt.
Finally copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

7) Download and run AVG Anti-Spyware according to the instructions in the link. Make sure you chose to delete or at least quarantine what it finds.

Restart the computer and post the Report.txt from the SDFix, the results of the Anti-Spyware scan and a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running now.

Thank you for taking the time to post all this helpful info, very nice of you. I had thought that the results I posted of the Spybot scan and Hijackthis scan was all that was requested as preliminary info but I will go back and re-read the section. Tomorrow I will use your advice to try to remove my Trojan and will post the results as well. :)

Problem solved. Many thanks guys, you saved me from having to reinstall windows. :bigthumb: Below are new HijackThis files, one before deleting items you pointed out (not all items were present) and one after and the Sdfix report. Also the Spyware scan log was not saved as I goofed trying to do it. Result was a file in the SDfix program on the desktop named "Backdoor.Agent.aga"

Thanks for returning your information. I would sure like to see the scan results from AVG Anti-Spyware. Take a look here:
C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\ <<< in that folder should be a folder called reports. The results may be in that folder. If not, you may run another scan if you wish, the tool shows me areas I can't see with HJT and I am only trying to make sure your computer is clean. This is your call.

Here are some things I see in this log:

The scanner is yours to keep, updates are free, but since you are running Windows Defender, I suggest you turn the program off in services and make sure it is not running unless you wish to update and scan.

I do not know if Spyware Doctor will cause Windows Defender issues or not, that would be a question for Microsoft.

Different spyware programs are going to conflict and cause you issues which can result in malware infections. This is a good program but it is usually left from a trial use and there are no benefits for it to run like it is unless you own it. Then I would reconsider running Windows Defender if I were you.

Besides those issues the HJT log appears clean of malware and I would say you are good to go. There is no need to post again unless you wish.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Here is the AVG report. I get the Spy sweeper software with updates free from Verizon DSL and their free MSN software (which I really like, the e-mail is great) so I normally leave that running. The Spyware Doctor was a program I purchased to try and remove the Trojan and I will just use that for scanning every now and then but not leave it running all the time. Many thanks again. :D:
