Clean?

I accidentally messed up my pc. Result: some trojans and quite a few viruses. I've done some cleaning and deleting, but I can't really tell if I'm back on the safe side.

What I've done (which returned result):
AVG Virus Scan
AVG Anti-Spyware Scan
Spybot Search and distroy scan
Ad-Aware scan
Bazooka scan

Some problems return with every scan (eg smitfraud-C)

I still can't (re)activate my windows firewall (i am behind a router), so something isn't 100% right.

At startup today i got another message displayed by AVG saying that there was a threat found in svchx.dll . The program appperently was able to delete the file.

After the pc has been restarted

Download SDFix (http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe) and save it to your Desktop.
Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services or Registry Entries found then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt.
Finally copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

I have two noticable problems: I can't reactivate my windows firewall and if I try to install the Windows Updates I get an old fashion cold reset. After reboot windows tells me "it has restored the system from an important error".

Every other scan I does says my system is clean. Including windows defender I just recently installed.

Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis. (Dont worry about the Hijackthis backup error)

While connected to the internet open the sdfix folder, doubleclick C:\SDFix\RunThis.bat
(not while in safe mode this time)
choose option 1 , fallow the prompts, when you get to another choices menu
choose option 5 "run full scan/disinfect"
Hopefull the pc wont reboot in the middle of the scan

The error I get is Windows can't enable Firewall and that I should try to enable it myself via the control panel. But if I open the firewall-control panel i get an error saying "Because of an unknown problem the configuration can't be displayed" (attn: I have a dutch version of winXP, so it's translated).

But the biggest problem now is that my PC crashes every session. I get a critical stop 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0xf4bd39fe, 0xf2a00a28, 0x00000000).

I know this is a memory-problem, but in safe mode I don't encounter this problem.

This is my problem: I start up and after some time (5 mins) I hear my fan speed go up and the system crashes. I've monitored my temps during this and no component is overheating.

Reboot the pc into safe mode get a startup list reboot back to normal and post it please
While in safe mode
Start Hijackthis click config misc tools >
plcase a check in [X] list also minor sections
and [X] list empty sections, then click gernerate startuplist log.
restart back to a normal windows session and post that log please.

Are you familur with the windows event viewer ?
For now lets just empty the logs, windows control panel > administrative tools > event viewer > hilight the application catagory then go action clear all events no to the save first .

do that for security and system catagories to. we can go back later and look for problems.

For that firewall error try the reg file under Solution for Case 1:

Open a command prompt (start run type cmd press enter) type

I use bitdefender's free version, so I can't enable the active shield. I just use it for scanning once and a while.

Ok, be carefull with bitdefender, ive cought several differant file infector type virus's, its online scan will not disinfect it will delete legit files.

Think Prevention: Put in place a good hosts file
