Hello and thank you in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

I have been getting the warning message about my computer being infected and the tray "!" icon, along with popups and a message about my drive not being available everytime I restart. I followed all of the advise in the logs with similar troubles, specifically I used the advice of Mr_JAk3 in his log with Pete G. I have managed to eliminate that warning message, Thanks by the way Mr_Jak3, but still get popups, even with my explorer popup bloker enabled and the message that says my drive is not connecting on starup continues. Can you please review my Hijackthis log and let me know what you think. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Tim...you want to be careful when you follow fixes tailored for other computers. While individual fixes will work for specific infections, you can do more damage than good if you are not careful.

You have at least PurityScan adware and a Vundo infection. Here is what I would like you to do for starters.

1) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs. Look for PuritySCAN By OIN, OIN or OuterInfo and uninstall them if there. Uninstall any program you know does not belong there. If you don't see those programs, then run this uninstaller:
http://www.outerinfo.com/howto.html

2) Follow the directions in this link, you will know you are successful when all files Vundo locates "Have been deleted"
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=4394

3) At that point I would like to run AVG Anti-Spyware, but I can't decide what you have done to the download??
H:\0 - Appz\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\guard.exe <<< I see this and it is running from H? Whatever that is and part of the program seems to be missing? I would like you to uninstall that program, and then follow the directions here:
http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/33/
Thanks to John McKenna for the tutorial.
Download it again and this time accept the default location which will be C:\Program Files\ then follow all instruction in that link exactly. Make sure you delete or at least quarantine anything located and save the scan report, I must see it.

Restart the computer and post the Vundofix report, scan report from AVG Anti-Spyware and a new HJT log.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, I see one PurityScan line in your HJT log and a lot of junk. Let's do this and see what happens:

1) Make sure the Resident Shield is disabled, it may block out fix.
http://www.virusvault.co.uk/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/33/
Deactivate the Resident Shield
- Before proceeding, deactivate the "Resident Shield" as this may prevent changes to the registry.
- To do this, click "Change State" to the right of the Resident Shield option in the main window.
- You will clearly see the status change to Inactive if you have done this correctly.

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {19E57E1E-EFF1-CB27-D3FF-C26930AF8EC7} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\eczsyzn.dll (file missing)
(next item is not working right if at all. If you use it download it again when we finish)
O2 - BHO: MSNToolBandBHO - {BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.5000.1021\en-ca\msntb.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Albi] "C:\DOCUME~1\TIMFIT~1\MYDOCU~1\YMANTE~1\dvdplay.exe" -vt ndrv
(remove the next item if you did not put it there)
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.vpay.co.kr
(remove the next item if you are not sure it is safe)
O16 - DPF: {A1832535-5218-42F9-8959-19E2BCABFABF} (INIwallet50 Control) - http://plugin.inicis.com/wallet50/INIwallet50.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: wineil32 - wineil32.dll (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\DOCUMENT & SETTINGS~1\TIMFIT~1\MYDOCU~1\YMANTE~1\ <<< delete that folder if it is there.

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running now.

Thanks...Phil

Thanks for the feedback Tim, that is good to hear. Good job:bigthumb: with those complex instructions. I love a clean computer. Use HJT to remove this dead line:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {C004DEC2-2623-438e-9CA2-C9043AB28508} - (no file)

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.vpay.co.kr <<< I see this is still there, you must know what it is. That is a lot of access to your computer.

Your HJT log looks to be clean of malware, let's do this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Thanks so much again. I followed your instructions, however HJT would not remove the trusted site entry. I used an app from this site (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm)which removed it. I cleaned my restore points and everything looks good. Take care and thank you kindly

Tim

I understand, if you used DelDomains:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf be aware of this information:
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Thanks

Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.

If you should need to post another log for the same PC let one of us know via a PM (personal message).
