Hi, I am finding that TeaTimer is taking up hundreds of MB in VM after running just 24 hours on my machine. :( I have Azureus, Trillian and Firefox running as well. Not sure if that has any bearing as to why this might be happening.

I killed the TeaTimer process because it was bringing my machine to its knees. How might I restart it manually without rebooting?

Killed TeaTimer?

To exit TeaTimer:
Right click Spybot's TeaTimer System Tray Icon > click Exit Spybot-S&D Resident.
To restart TeaTimer:
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy.
Double click TeaTimer.exe to start it.

Thanks.

So why is TeaTimer so VM intensive? I am seeing page fault delta at over 200 constantly for this process, far more than any other application.

I really don't know. My Page Faults and PF Delta (149 per/sec.) are extremely high but TeaTimer does not appear to be actually retrieving those pages because the I/O doesn't seem to reflect that paging rate, at least not on my system.

Right now on my system, TeaTimer’s Virtual Memory Size is only running 5840K with Memory Usage at 7976K after 8+ hours.

OS: Windows XP Home Edition
Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
Total Physical Memory: 512 MB
Total Virtual Memory: 2.00 GB
Page File Space: 1.22 GB

Since getting Spybot S&D I have not seen an icon in the tray you've mentioned. How do I access this icon? I use Spybot for blind users and usually things are marked clearly. Thank you.

Tarheel:

Do you have TeaTimer activated?

Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident
Check (if unchecked) the following:
Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.
