Howdy - First time caller...

I Ran the trend micro online scan - it deleted some stuff and advised me of two security risks in office but i didn't see an option to save a log file or anything. I'll run it again if you want me too...

also ran S&D in normal mode - deleted a bunch of stuff - that was before i read your forums so i didnt save a log. I ran it again in safe mode and it had no errors. log is available on request (pretty damn long log file. it wont let me attach all of it - i just put the first bit of it and if you want me to attach .txt file i can do that when your ready.)

and below the S&D log file is a hijackthis log.

Thanks for taking a look :-)

Sorry i should have mentioned my problem... PC was running great until a week or so ago. Now it is really slow when trying to load any apps. I installed trend micro internet security 2007 in the last week... i would not have thought that it would put this big a drain on the computer though. Also installed starcraft this week, pretty low resources needed for that though. I have no idea what to try next hence - ive come here to see if theres spyware or malware or anything i cant see.

Thanks heaps.
Cheers

hi Rookio,

dont see anyhting in the log to be worried about.

i would not have thought that it would put this big a drain on the computer though
its quite possible.

theres a 6 page post around here somewhere with all kinds of problems. they "went away' when norton was uninstalled. those security suites dig deep into your computer.

Well, shelf life - Thanks for taking a look. I'll un-install the AV temporarily and see how i go - 2006 version ran beautifully i wonder if the 07 version tried to do too much fancy stuff and hinders performance. Or maybe i just got to upgrade the ol pc...

Anyway thanks again
