Can't Download Quicktime or iTunes

Months ago I was able to download music from iTunes and had Quicktime installed. After removing programs without knowing what I was doing I am now unable to download music from iTunes and Quicktime 7.0. In my Windows XP Add and Remove programs iTunes is there as well as Quicktime however it can not be deleted or removed but only states "rarely used".. How do I clean up my computor so I can redownload Quicktime so my kids can download their music. I recently found something called (!Killbot) that I used to remove S?smanic from my computor. Will this work or what is the best way to get iTunes and Quicktime 7.0 running before Christmas?? Please step by step advise since I am not computor sauvy..
