2 Days In and already infected.... please help!

Hi, I have been connected to the internet on this machine for only two days, and already im seeing the efects of a spyware infection.

Search sites like google and Windows Live are hijacked, making them unusable. I can search for things, but when i try to use a link, i am redirected to a random site such as wxx.camouflageclothingonline.net (with some rather lewd links) and MonsterMarketing.com. It appears to be a random annoyance, but being a student i need to be able to search for stuff!

Im running Windows XP Pro SP2, with AVG Free antivirus (always up to date), Windows Defender (Always up to date) and your own Spybot S+D (again, always up to date).

Now here is where its gets weird...

I run a full scan using all three products, and my sytem comes up clean. Spybot, AVG and Defender all insist that my system is clean, but it blatantly isn't. I checked that they were all up to date, and once that was confirmed, i scanned again, producing the same result.

Right now things have got worse! I cant access many sites now without being redirected to pornography or other random sites. I only got on this by chance!

I REALLY need help now, its making my internet unusable! SpyBot still comes up clean and i really dont know what to do now!

Welcome to the forum, please follow these directions.

1) What are you running for a firewall? If it is SP2 firewall, you may want to opt for a free third party firewall.

2) Please download FixWareout from here:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

(Save those logs until we finish)

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.

Restart the computer and post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in this same topic. Let me know how the computer is running now.

My advice would be to change all passwords especially banking, credit card, etc. Speculation is the hackers are stealing information to sell back to local scum.

This information may be helpful:
Now lets check some settings on your system.
(2000/XP) Only
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Click the Networking tab. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable on some systems
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)

I personally use the free version of Zone Alarm (not paid and not trial versions) it seems to be the easiest to use out of the box and has a great flash tutorial and good help information. If you install another firewall make sure you turn off the SP2 firewall.

I am posting information from experts in the field, after you review it if you have additional questions, post them and I will do my best to give you answers.

You have Windows Defender which is a good free program, AVG by Grisoft is a good antivirus program for the money (watch for an update around the first of the year) and look to the backdoor which I think is how this junk got in?
Run one of each (firewall, spyware and antivirus) and keep them up to date.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
