I was previously helped by Illuka (see this thread http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=3501)
but unfortunately IE has been hijacked again, despite my efforts to protect my system.
I also cannot get Outlook express to get a connection.
The 017 seems very stubborn and keeps re-appearing, so your help would be much appreciated.

fallow the prompts to restart your pc then run the program and do an indepth search, when its finished press save results and post it in your next reply.

Thanks Lonny,

I've done as you said, and thankfully it found nothing.
To update on progress, I did in desperation have a go myself at what seemed suspicious to me last Monday (can't do my work without the machine).

So I've run Panda's Activescanpro, Spybot of course, CCleaner, and Ad-aware SE, allowing them to delete anything they found, which was initially many things but now nothing.
FYI when I followed the link from the previous advice to download Adaware, at the top of the page were icons linking to download the software. I clicked on what appeared to be Adaware, but in fact it downloaded more spyware which was detected by spybot soon afterwards. I presume this link was inserted by whatever was on my machine
On fixwareout I fixed the entries RO, 017 and 020.
I was also suspicious about the file WgaLogon.dll so I left it where it was but renamed it.

Since these alterations I've had no more problems, but it would be reassuring to know from an expert that all is now well.

Rename WgaLogon.dll back to its original name
run Hijackthis click config misc tools backups and put a check next to that 020 then click restore, exit and restart your PC.

did you delete or rename IPSEC6.EXE ? if so put it back

Fix only this item with Hijackthis

If You have connection problems or those specific 017's ~ 85.255.116.119 85.255.112.220, return >
Before doing this write down all the settings, Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, While some connection service's will require them.
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties.
Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
Do that for every conntection listed.

Post a fresh hijackthis log please, be sure to mention any current problems.

WgaLogon.dll now restored, and the 020.
I didn't touch IPSEC6.EXE as I subsequently saw the file in Killbox and realised it was ok.
017 fixed, hijack this log below.
Thankfully I seem to have no problems now.

afterwards It's very important to uninstall the old version's via addremove programs.

Your ewido program is outdated as well, uninstall it and go get the current version.
