Hourglass Blinkage

Today my system became slow and at times non responsive.
And then i noticed the hourglass beside my cursor was blinking, and an autoplay window would popup and then go away and pop up again.

What actions do i need to take to resolve this problem?
Also what info do you need to determine the soulution?
