hover window says "Security Warning your computer may be infected with harmful or unwanted software"

I have eTrust EZ-Armor (virus scan, firewall, adware scan) using real time, I've run scans and nothing can tell what is causing this.

I ran Vundo and it removes a random char .exe from the system32 folder.

Then I went through my services and regedit and deleted what appeared to be video card system tray programs, that weren't running in the system tray.

Attached is my new hijack log, please let me know if I missed anything, but I'm not showing any symptoms.

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum, if you still need help, the symptoms sound like Smitfraud. I wish to check for it first. I do see other infections in your HJT log that we will tackle as soon as I have a look at the results of the Smitfraud "Search"

1) Please download SmitfraudFix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip) (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

2) Return to here: C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\HijackThis.exe <<< point your mouse at the .exe and right click then rename it to Andy.exe or whatever.

I was getting an INetGet2 folder, but my eTrust Pest Patrol picked it up and fixed that between then and now: attached it the SmitFraudFix log, and new HJT log, as requested. (What was the purpose in renaming the .exe? just wondering)

(What was the purpose in renaming the .exe? just wondering)You mentioned Vundo, and the hackers have been hiding it. Renaming shows it if it is there.
Nothing showing in the Smitfraud check either, but there is junk left in the log, let's do this.

Google is not returning information on this one:

1) Your Java program needs and update, see this information:

Please download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) Run ATF Cleaner >>> Tutorial:

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Thanks for that information, I figured that program was valid, and was surprised Goggle had so little information about it. You don't have a link to the website, do you?

I ran combofix to get this one: C:\Program Files\Common Files\{44AB7789-07D0-1033-1002-030915050001}\Update.exe that was showing in the HJT log, as you can see, some junk was hidden.

I see C:\Vundofix Backups that you can delete, in fact delete all of the tools we used with the exception of ATF-Cleaner that you can keep if you wish.
(Not HJT: one of the nicest small tools you will ever get free, here is some info about it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html )

This file scans like they might be good or bad, please use one or more of these free online scanners. If it scans as bad, delete it to the recycle bin for a few days. If there are no problems, clean the bin. Make sure if you run ATF-Cleaner, that you don't check the Recycle Bin.

Your HJT log looks to be clean of malware and I would say your are good to go, let do this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
