Dialer- 269 problems along with other spyware and trojans

[Keldawg]

Hello. I have been trying to remove Dialer- 269 along with many other spyware/ trojans for about 2-3 weeks but still have had no luck. I followed all the preliminary steps so i hope someone can help me out. It would much much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, if you are not receiving help elsewhere and still need help, please do this.

1) C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02 <<<< Java is out of date, see this information:

Download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) SpyCatcher 2006 <<< do you own this program? You will need to turn it off until you complete these instructions, it will probably block the changes you must make.

5) Windows Defender <<< We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.
I question running these programs at the same time. I would ask Microsoft if Windows Defender should be run at the same time as SpyCatcher 2006, they may conflict with each other?

6) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall MyWebsearch and any other program you know does not belong there. If you are not sure, let me know and I will look.

7) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

8) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

rdgUS2650.exe <<< search for that file and delete it if you find it.

C:\egnt.exe <<< delete that file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\z1571.exe <<< delete that file

c:\windows\system32\windows2k5.exe <<< delete that file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\tcpetefw.exe <<< delete that file
C:\PROGRAM FILES~1\MYWEBS~1\ <<< delete that folder

9) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. Include any information you think will help.

Thanks for returning your information, HJT often removes the files when they are not running programs, I always check twice to be sure. Let's see how the HJT log looks.

Make sure to delete or at least quarantine anything it locates and save the scan report.

Everything seems to be running well except the internet is not working on the other 2 accounts on this computer, it only works on mine. Do you know what could be causing this?

If you have other user accounts they can easily be infected, sign in to each account and create a HJT log and post it here. Mark the log plainly so you will know who's it is.

As you can see the System Restore files are infected. This information will show you have to clean them:

There is no reason to do it until we are done with the other users, just DO NOT use System Restore until you do.

Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Navigate to the file: C:\egnt.exe and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.

Make sure it is missing from the next HJT log run on this user after the reboot. Post the logs for the other two users so we can see if malware is present.

Hijackthis won't open on any of the other accounts, an Application Error comes up and says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click on OK to terminate application."

Since HJT works fine in your user, you probably need to sign in as administrator and access their accounts while logged in, but that is just my guess.

I can tell you the HJT log you just posted looks fine and suggest you follow these instructions to clean your System Restore files, that should be done anyway:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I would also post this information anyway, if you can figure out how to get HJT logs from the other users, post them. I will leave the topic open for a few days to see what happens.

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Besides that, these logs look clean. I see no malware or any reason why you should be able to get online and them not. Check your firewall to make sure it is not blocking them, and then get with your ISP, there may be some settings that need changed in those users?

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.
