Description:

The file downloads other trojans and malware onto the system. It creates a unique Internet Explorer ID and installs a browser helper object. It creates some services, of which one is hidden from Windows API (Rootkit function). If you need help with removal please contact Team Spybot S&D via forums or email.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "startdrv" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\Temp\startdrv.exe".
• Entries named "startdrv" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\Temp\startdrv.exe".
• Entries named "IEFilter" and pointing to "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Filters\IExpl32d.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Temp\startdrv.exe".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\runtime2.sys".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Temp\startdrv.exe".
• The file at "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Filters\IExpl32d.exe".
• The file at "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Filters\MSIEHelper.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ipv6mons.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_dirs.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_files.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_proc.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_rkeys.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_rvals.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hd_self.cfg".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\hflt_ipf.sys".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\runtime2.sys".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\runtime2.sys".
• The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\FT.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Win32.Murlo.ff.rtk uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "{AB4A94FA-4F4F-34AB-41A4-849FA4F8A48E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{AB4A94FA-4F4F-34AB-41A4-849FA4F8A48E}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "hflt_ipf" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
• Delete the registry key "hflt_ipf" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
• Delete the registry key "hflt_ipf" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
• Delete the registry value "UID" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\SafeBoot\Network\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\SafeBoot\Network\".
• Delete the registry key "runtime2.sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\SafeBoot\Network\".

If Win32.Murlo.ff.rtk uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
