Manual Removal Guide for Zippy

Description:

Zippy floods the registry with entries and causes several porn pop-ups.

Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• A file with an unknown location named "zippy.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Zippy uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

• The directory at "<$SYSDIR>\cache32_zippy".

• Delete the registry key "{BEEE0629-8DF7-46BE-A577-4E4FEDE232CD}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{C5CA1B6F-37C9-4411-A7BB-A43D2B104458}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{D7607D4A-FF6D-4EA9-B429-A0C76999DED9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{1376F359-8D91-4A0B-89A0-59439A59C342}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "zippy.amo", plus associated values.
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "zippy.amo.1", plus associated values.

• Delete the registry key "{FEE41EED-1DA6-46C9-8EC6-F0BE1B7157DC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
