Manual Removal Guide for AdultLinks.QcBar

The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "AdultLinks.QcBar" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\QcBar.inf".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\QcBar.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\allch.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If AdultLinks.QcBar uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• References to the file "allch.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
• References to the file "QcBar.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
• References to the file "allch.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
• References to the file "QcBar.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
• Delete the registry key "QcBar" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Allch.IEObj", plus associated values.
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "QcBar", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{765E6B09-6832-4738-BDBE-25F226BA2AB0}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{D6FC35D1-04AB-4D40-94CF-2E5AE4D0F8D2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{242CA913-1637-4F74-9729-EA349AF3ECAC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{ED7D1356-F7C2-4A27-A87C-C0DFEB3A628F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{60381D4B-8129-449A-A5F2-5417AD0571CC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "{C02EE3A0-1881-419F-A5ED-737223463292}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "{765E6B09-6832-4738-BDBE-25F226BA2AB0}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{D6FC35D1-04AB-4D40-94CF-2E5AE4D0F8D2}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{765E6B09-6832-4738-BDBE-25F226BA2AB0}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\".
• Delete the registry key "{D6FC35D1-04AB-4D40-94CF-2E5AE4D0F8D2}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\".
• Delete the registry value "{765E6B09-6832-4738-BDBE-25F226BA2AB0}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".
• Delete the registry key "{765E6B09-6832-4738-BDBE-25F226BA2AB0}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".

If AdultLinks.QcBar uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.

• Look for Internet Explorer extensions named "Adult Links".
• Look for ActiveX software installed from "QcBar_icon.cab".
