Description:

Win32.Delf.aoa installs a library file to the system directory and creates a browser helper object within the internet explorer which links to rogue software sites. Win32.Delf.aoa is a member of the Smitfraud family.

Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\PowerVideo.dll".
• A file with an unknown location named "PowerVideo.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Win32.Delf.aoa uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "{5AF8125F-9BB3-482D-8B49-B4B3E9D8DB59}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{333E0189-EB79-4D24-BA64-FAF768284313}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{741403DD-46A4-4D58-8FA7-427335C3BBF6}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{032706C0-EB72-4DF0-ABF6-B89958D2A6CC}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{66D69CC1-5373-4730-AB8E-24D2AB7FF95F}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{7E4C5F57-FF13-4006-A5F6-BE97D9CD6261}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{323301C5-CB6B-490C-B59F-E7FAD4D69C93}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{065B1210-E57F-41AD-90C5-F70D63388640}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{A9A82440-64E7-4177-86AE-B58DEE731AF3}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{BD907325-42B2-4077-BA63-F636B627C998}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{7D8BD0D7-8FD8-48CB-A0B5-472F68B92BC4}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{EF425F00-2D4C-4273-A610-3403026681A6}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
