ebay - possibly malicious url detected

When I visit the eBay site I get subjected with a barrage of pop-ups from Spybot 2.0 saying the following:

Along with the URL of a page which is definitely from eBay
eg. http://my.ebay.co.uk..... http://mesgmy.ebay.co.uk... etc.

I get the following options:

So, why does it reoccur at almost every page change, or click on eBay. It does not remember the setting, and asks me over and over again as soon as I go to another page.

Should I be choosing a different set of options to get this to go away - I notice the error text isn't quite grammatically correct so is my interpretation not right?

Is there not a setting somewhere to stop Spybot from asking this, checking URLs etc.

Also, sometimes I get the "ping" and a grey square come up in the screen, that's it Spybot has frozen but has also locked up Internet Explorer so I can't look at any of the other things I was looking at in IE (yes I can multi-task!), only way round it is to Task Manager kill the process and Internet Explorer at the same time.

The way this is going I will just uninstall Spybot and live without it's useful functions just to make this irritation go away.

which Version of Spybot are you using?
Whats your Operating-System (which Version) and which Version of Internet Explorer are you using?

It seems that if you whitelist ebay sites in the proxy it only whitelists each ebay offer site individually and not ebay in general.

I have notified our development department about this.

You can disable the proxy.
Open the Spybot – Search & Destroy “Start Center“ and click on “Settings“.
Choose the tab “Internet Connection“.
Here you can untick the checkbox in front of "Use Spybot proxy".
Now click “Apply“ and “OK“.

@Andy_Bee: in some cases you also will have to disable the "use a proxy"-option into the Internet-Options of Internet-Explorer manually too.

Hi all, thanks for your advice and help

I am using Spybot v2.0.12.0, running on Windows 8 Pro, using IE 10

If I go to the Internet Connection tab in the Start Centre settings, I cannot see a "Use Spybot proxy". I have the following:
- Use the same global settings as Internet Explorer.
- Do not use any proxy trying to access the internet.
- Use the following proxy settings to access the internet:

Is it the "Do not use..." option?

There is nothing set in IE for a proxy

No change, still get the pop-ups that ignore my "forever" choices :-(

You seem to be using a dated version of Spybot-S&D.

Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to Spybot 2: this link.
Then download our current version Spybot - Search & Destroy 2.1.
You will find links to several download locations for this new version on our web site.
