Spybot IE add in gives runtime error 216

I have recently downloaded 2.0.6.0 build 20111005. I switched off live protection which was just slowing up my old pc too much.

I have been getting runtime error 216 on closing internet explorer (IE8).

By process of elimination and reading Microsoft help pages I have concluded that the cause is the following add-on in the IE add on list

Name Spybot - Search & Destroy Configuration
Publisher Not Available
Status Disabled
Version 2.0.6.88

I am running windows xp

Has anyone else had this? What effect will disabling this add-on have? Should I go back to the spybot version 1.6.0.31 which I used before?

Any thoughts appreciated
