The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "CDilla" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Basically, protection against pirated copies of copyrighted media is a good thing. The bad thing about this one is that it is often installed without the knowledge of the user. Old advertisement from Macrovision said that CDilla (or SafeCast to call it by their name) would protect against unauthorized internet downloads. While this would mean that it would watch all internet transfer, such functionality could not be found. Notice: while we currently detect CDilla, We DO condemn audio/video/software piracy.

Do not remove if you haven't updated to 1.1 rel 4 or later!
You may need to keep CDilla on your system because another application needs it as a license management system. There were some reports that CDilla would phone home, but that hasn't be proven. As a general safety measure, we recommend you use a firewall.

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
- Products that are named "C-Dilla Licence Management System".
- Products that have a key or property named "LMS".
Files:
Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA05.DLL".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA10.EXE".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA13.DL".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA32.DL".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA40.DL".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\CDILLA64.EXE".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\CDAint2f.vxd".
- The file at "<$SYSDIR>\CDAwin95.vxd".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\system.ini".
- The file at "<$WINDIR>\system.ini".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If CDilla uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!
Folders:
Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
- The directory at "c:\C_DILLA".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If CDilla uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!
Registry:
You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
- Delete the registry key "C-Dilla" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
- Delete the registry key "C-Dilla" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
If CDilla uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
