The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "WinSpy.SpySoftWareX" manually.

Description:

WinSpy.SpySoftWareX records all keystrokes without the user's awareness or consent about this. It tracks the user's surfing and working behaviour. It creates autorun entries in the registry in order to be launched on each Windows startup. WinSpy.SpySoftWareX collects also important system information.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "csrss" and pointing to "<$WINDIR>\csrss.exe".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ANSMTP.dll".
• The file at "c:\Program Files\Accessories\Temp197\Keylog.txt".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\csrss.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\ex.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\rf.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\sm.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\smta.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\syst.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\unin.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\uninse.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\winsyst.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\compinfo.txt".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If WinSpy.SpySoftWareX uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

• The directory at "c:\Program Files\Accessories\Temp197".
• The directory at "c:\Program Files\Accessories\Temp197\Archive".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If WinSpy.SpySoftWareX uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "SSET" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".

If WinSpy.SpySoftWareX uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
