Are the problems gone when trying to access Facebook or similar sites or has this been fixed
Facebook still slow when first loading. much quicker once loaded. Any other ideas?
Thanks for all this help.
Chris
Did you reset Internet Explorer back to factory settings like I posted in a previous post
Yes, as requested. Oddly it just seems to be this site.
Chris
Well, it does not sound like a malware issue,
Try this, I am sure your using a bookmark to access FB, sign out of FB, then delete the bookmark, then search with Google for FB, log back on and after your logged on then bookmark it. It sounds like just an outdated bookmark
Let me know what happened
Seems better, thanks. Glad to know that it is not malware.
Thanks for all of your time
Chris
Your welcome Chris
We need to update your Java to keep you more secure
- Go to your Control Panel and click on the Java Icon ( looks like a little coffee cup ) click on About and you should have Version 7 Update 25, if not proceed with the instructions.
- Go to the update Tab and update it
- Important, during the upgrade UNCHECK ASK TOOL BAR. ( you do not need or want this )
- Then go to your Add Remove Programs (WIN XP) or Programs and Features (Vista / Win 7) in the Control Panel and uninstall all previous versions.
You can verify the installation Here
Open OTL and click on Clean Up and it will remove programs we used to clean your system along with there backups, any programs that where not removed you can just drag to the trash.
Malwarebytes is the free version and yours to keep and will not be removed
- How did I get infected in the first place ?
