Description:

This trojan horse attaches itself as a browser helper object (BHO) to the Internet Explorer. It will steal the email adresses stored on the users computer and transmit them to its website. It will also steal the users email account information. The trojan horse also phishes for bank accounts/transfer data. It appears to be specialized on german, austrian an polish accounts.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\asl.god".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\help.txt".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ps.dat".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\cookie.dat".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\helper.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\helper.xml".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Banker.FAT uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "{73BE5425-DAD2-42e8-B0E7-4DD7D46D6D42}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{73BE5425-DAD2-42e8-B0E7-4DD7D46D6D42}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{850C7964-9320-4055-BE11-7D7B562A6417}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\".
• Delete the registry key "{850C7964-9320-4055-BE11-7D7B562A6417}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Helper.Helper", plus associated values.
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Helper.Helper.1", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{75490F78-6E20-45A1-90BF-4D69D5E8BFA2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{C762C303-ADB0-4F4B-BBAA-D037694D3590}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "Helper" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
• Delete the registry key "{850C7964-9320-4055-BE11-7D7B562A6417}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".

If Banker.FAT uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
