Spybot Hanging on removal of malware

I think a lot of people have encountered the problem with Spybot hanging when go to remove malware after a system scan. The workaround I use it to delete only small batches of malware at one time. I will select the first 10 items and remove these and wait until this is complete (green ticks against item). Only then will I remove the next 10 items (10 is arbitrary - small batches is the key).
This way it may take a little longer to execute however the application will not hang and you can remove all items of concern.
Perhaps this is general knowledge - I only offer as option as many people have reported the same behaviour with no solutions.
