Manual Removal Guide for Hupigon13

The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Hupigon13" manually.

Description:

Hupigon13 copies malicious files into the system directory , starts itself in autorun as "hsiwij", change more settings in registry without giving the user a possibility to cancel that process.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDRIVE>\OSO.exe".
• The file at "<$SYSDRIVE>\autorun.inf".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Hupigon13 uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "regedit.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Remove "<$SYSDIR>\drivers\conime.exe" from registry value "Shell" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\".
• Remove "\SystemRoot\" from registry value "ImagePath" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\sr\".
• Remove "\SystemRoot\" from registry value "ImagePath" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\sr\".
• Remove "\SystemRoot\" from registry value "ImagePath" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\sr\".
• Delete the registry key "360Safe.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "adam.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "avp.com" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "avp.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "EGHOST.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "IceSword.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "iparmo.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "kabaload.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "KRegEx.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "KvDetect.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "KVMonXP.kxp" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "KvXP.kxp" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "MagicSet.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "mmsk.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "msconfig.com" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".

• Delete the registry key "NOD32.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "PFW.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "PFWLiveUpdate.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "QQDoctor.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "Ras.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "Rav.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "RavMon.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "regedit.com" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "runiep.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "SREng.EXE" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "TrojDie.kxp" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Delete the registry key "WoptiClean.exe" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\".
• Remove " <$SYSDIR>\severe.exe" from registry value "Shell" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\".
