Spybot 2.0.12 unable to Update from Boot CD

I have a Technician licence for Spybot 2 so I can use the tool an a number of PC's waiting fixes.
To run Spybot on a PC without installing a fresh copy I have to run the Boot CD version - (that's ok but I would like to run a stand alone/non install copy really).
Anyway, created the Boot CD fine, boot from the CD fine, but I cannot then get any Updates as the network connections are not found - I have tried this on two Win 7 ethernet cable connected PC's (one 32, one 64 bit).

Should I be able to update the detection rules from the Boot CD?
