The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Win32.ConHook.ah" manually.

Description:

Win32.ConHook.ah copies itself into the system directory of the operating system and tries to connect to the internet. When it is connected it waits for new orders to harm the computer. Additionally the trojan creates a browser helper object (BHO) and a cookie to display special advertisement. The trojan intstalls a BHO and additional files, which are loaded by the winlogon.exe. It also tries to connect to several servers in order to post collected data. Please also scan in Windows Safemode to eliminate all registry entries. Some files have to be fixed manually. Please contact our support team for further assistance.

Autorun:

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\logdlg.dns".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Win32.ConHook.ah uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "{a86c723e-0a95-4a99-8b49-b6116d691734}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{9bca496b-7487-4a80-9104-0d105618c6b7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "af47e11bea" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\".
• Delete the registry key "DNIdent" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\".
• Delete the registry key "{a86c723e-0a95-4a99-8b49-b6116d691734}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{9bca496b-7487-4a80-9104-0d105618c6b7}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{5CD5DDCF-10E8-4A2D-B678-FE5B285B1AD7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{1491E5F9-6A1A-4EFB-B1D6-42176BE77394}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{5CD5DDCF-10E8-4A2D-B678-FE5B285B1AD7}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{1491E5F9-6A1A-4EFB-B1D6-42176BE77394}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{68A0FB13-E58F-4476-8791-7B8C79E88399}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{68A0FB13-E58F-4476-8791-7B8C79E88399}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".

If Win32.ConHook.ah uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
