DirectX uninstallation in Windows 7
Hi all, glad to be back in this forum after months of inactive =D
I've got a problem with DirectX in Windows 7 recently after installing some of the games that I have in Windows Vista. They gave me an error saying that DirectX version 8 and above is not installed. i check the registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX" and found that the version is 4.09.00.0904.0
Does anyone have any ideas about my problem?
Regards.
try downloading updates for direct x
see this link and run the setup:

I know it says updates for 9.0c and less, but the weird thing is it downloaded updates for direct x v11. I think the description is just not updated. I could be very wrong here though, ether way try it. Can't hurt.
Most people do not even use this, but the setup there did fix any issues I had with games after i downloaded and ran the setup. :)
Also, try updating your video cards driver. Always a good idea, although its probably not directly related to your issue. Sometimes windows update does not find the newest version. Look at the manufacturers site for further information.
You could try this as well:

Also, out of curiosity, did you upgrade from vista to 7? Or Clean install?
Also, I see that the game says it supports Opengl. Did you try switching to that mode since Direct X doesn't work?
