Manual Removal Guide for SysProtect

The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "SysProtect" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

• Shortcuts named "SysProtect.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>ipco\SysProtect Free\USYP.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "SysProtect" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\USYP.exe*".
• Entries named "NI.USYP" and pointing to ""*\SysProtectScannerInstall.exe"".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

• Products that have a key or property named "USYP_is1".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If SysProtect uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\Backup".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\Download".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\Mp3DB".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\MpegDB".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\Repaired".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\Tasks".
• The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\WaveDB".

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "Sys_Protect Free" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
• Delete the registry key "Sys_Protect Free" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
• Delete the registry key "SysProtect" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
• Delete the registry key "{4F5E5D72-C915-4f3b-908B-527D064B0FAA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
• Delete the registry key "{EF130E77-0A34-4365-BFB7-218FD3DDCD5F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{02946FD1-2D99-46E6-A790-3A089714EDD9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• References to the file "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SysProtect Free\PCheck.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
• Delete the registry key "SysProtect Free" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
• Delete the registry key "{7EACF70B-302F-4049-AC68-2D62EB43E473}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "SysProtect Free" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".

If SysProtect uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
