failure to scan/work on restart... now what do I do?

this happens often lately. I do the first scan, some spyware items could not be removed. so I have the program run on restart... only problem is it never runs. so I can't finish scanning and removing.

I just restarted and I'm looking at a black screen. nothing is happening. the computer power is on. now what?

what do I do in the cases when I do the long first scan and removal attempt, then restart and the second scan never happens, the program never loads to scan? or in this case, I have a black screen and nothing is happening?

I killed the power. then it finally rebooted and started the scan. but seems like this should have happened the first time? not normal behavior I guess? beats me.

which Operating-System are you unsing?

Is your Computer a multi-boot-system (different operating systems installed)?

windows 7 home premium sp 1...

just one os installed. upgraded from vista.

Please do the following for me:

- open cmd as Administartor (rightlick -> Run as Administartor)
- type bcdedit /v and press ENTER
- now create a screensot of the whole window or copy its content into the forum.

to copy, click with the right mouse-button into the cmd-window and select "marc" - now scroll down until all is selected and press the ENTER-key now.
you can copy the content now into a new reply into this forum by ctrg/strg + v or with righclick-insert.

Do you have any other Securtiy-Software (Firewall, Anti-Virus) in use? If yes, which?

Please also note, in Windows 7 you need tio run Spybot with Administartor-Rights!
Please rightclick the Application and select "Run as Adminstrator" - Does this help?
