The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Win32.Agent.qvo" manually.

Description:

Win32.Agent.qvo changes the start pages and the search scopes of all installed web browsers to adware distribution domains, e.g. 'qvo6.com' or '22find'. Once run it downloads additional software from remote web servers without any user consent.

Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins\qvo6.xml".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Win32.Agent.qvo uses rootkit technologies, use the rootkit scanner integrated into Spybot-S&D 2.x or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry key "findhp" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\findSoftware\".
• Delete the registry key "qvo6hp" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\qvo6Software\".
• Delete the registry key "qvo6Software" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
• Delete the registry value "DisplayName" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{33BB0A4E-99AF-4226-BDF6-49120163DE86}\".
• Delete the registry value "oem" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\findSoftware\findhp\".
• Delete the registry value "oem" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\qvo6Software\qvo6hp\".
• Delete the registry value "Time" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\findSoftware\findhp\".
• Delete the registry value "Time" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\qvo6Software\qvo6hp\".
• Delete the registry value "URL" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{33BB0A4E-99AF-4226-BDF6-49120163DE86}\".
• Remove "{33BB0A4E-99AF-4226-BDF6-49120163DE86}" from registry value "DefaultScope" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://search\.22find\.com. " from registry value "CustomizeSearch" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://search\.22find\.com. " from registry value "SearchAssistant" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://search\.qvo6\.com. " from registry value "CustomizeSearch" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://search\.qvo6\.com. " from registry value "SearchAssistant" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.22find\.com. " from registry value "Start Page" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.22find\.com. " from registry value "Start Page" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.qvo6\.com. " from registry value "Start Page" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".
• Remove "<regexpr>http\://www\.qvo6\.com. " from registry value "Start Page" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\".

If Win32.Agent.qvo uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
