Manual Removal Guide for StarLux

The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "StarLux" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

• Shortcuts named "live-xxxdc@dc.lnk" and pointing to "LIVE-XXX.EXE".
• Shortcuts named "dialpartner91de.lnk" and pointing to "DIALPARTNER91.EXE".
• Shortcuts that include "dialpartner91.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "topsex.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "x-nass.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "gratis-teensex.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "dreamsex08dc@dc" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "livevideo.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "\EXTRA.EXE" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "ingrid-livede.exe" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "livesex-teensde" in the target they point to.
• Shortcuts that include "LIVE-XXX.EXE" in the target they point to.

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "gratis-teensexde" and pointing to "C:\gratis-teensexde\GRATIS-TEENSEX.EXE -t".
• Entries named "extradc@dc" and pointing to "C:\extradc@dc\EXTRA.EXE -t".
• Entries pointing to "x-nass.exe".
• Entries pointing to "gratis-teensex.exe".
• Entries named "dreamsex08dc@dc".
• Entries named "livevideode".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

• Products that have a key or property named "topsexde".
• Products that have a key or property named "x-nassde".
• Products that have a key or property named "gratis-teensexde".
• Products that have a key or property named "livevideode".
• Products that have a key or property named "dreamsex08dc@dc".

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "c:\live-xxxdc@dc.lnk".
• A file with an unknown location named "live-xxx.exe".
• The file at "c:\x-nassde.lnk".
• The file at "c:\dialpartner91de.lnk".
• A file with an unknown location named "dialpartner91.exe".
• A file with an unknown location named "extra.exe".
• The file at "c:\gratis-teensexde.lnk".
• The file at "c:\extradc@dc.lnk".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Starlux.ini".
• A file with an unknown location named "dialpartner91.exe".
• A file with an unknown location named "topsex.exe".
• A file with an unknown location named "x-nass.exe".
• A file with an unknown location named "livevideo.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If StarLux uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

• Delete the registry key "topsexde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "topsexde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "x-nassde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "x-nassde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "gratis-teensexde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "gratis-teensexde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "extradc@dc" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "extradc@dc" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "ingrid-livede" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "ingrid-livede" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "livesex-teensde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "livesex-teensde" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
• Delete the registry key "live-xxxdc@dc" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
• Delete the registry value "live-xxxdc@dc" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".

If StarLux uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.

• Please check your bookmarks for links to "www.blue-elefant.com".
