Manual Removal Guide for PU.RegProtech

The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "PU.RegProtech" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:

PU.RegProtech scans the computer for errors and invalid registry entries in order to improve system stability. If the user wants to fix these entries they have to activate the program.

Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$APPDATA>\regcl.dll".
• The file at "<$COMMONDESKTOP>\RegProtech.lnk".
• The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\iHaveAnswer LLC\RegProtech\RegProtech.lnk".
• The file at "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\Downloaded Installations\{4C6156A3-0B19-4F93-BFEA-D5F65E01ADFC}\RegProtech.msi".
• The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\iHaveAnswer LLC\RegProtech\RegProtech.exe".
• The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\iHaveAnswer LLC\RegProtech\RegProtech.vshost.exe".
• The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\iHaveAnswer LLC\RegProtech\Uninstall.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Tasks\RegProtech_Daily.job".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If PU.RegProtech uses rootkit technologies, use the rootkit scanner integrated into Spybot-S&D 2.x or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

• Delete the registry key "{6E64E0B7-9E40-4D0C-BF43-332BDE875C3E}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\".
• Delete the registry key "2B5D11114EE442147A0F0EC36D991F56" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "47E05476A8EB155438A16446BE55D9C4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "598DED5D4A1F82D4FA40BEDABE6555E5" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "65934A82B14718E4FBD337C8B0B156C6" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "7B0E46E604E9C0D4FB3433B2ED78C5E3" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\".
• Delete the registry key "A74B18E69FB1B8441A4B38DCE732D877" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "A8BECCC9B0B175246A8E06BCD35F5A63" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "A99A7A0C3C2270F4493B5588B736667B" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "B87F2BF8D077E4B45806B87CA36761C5" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".
• Delete the registry key "E84B06974E2330F42BC6A78858477EB8" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\".

If PU.RegProtech uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

There are more registry entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.
