Description:

The program secretly installs a BHO and a toolbar. There are also some registry entries made.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

• Entries named "2020Downloader".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

• Products that have a key or property named "2020Search2020Search".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$WINDIR>\bjam.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\mspphe.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\mssvr.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\2020install.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\2020search.bmp".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\2020search.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\2020search.xml".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\logo.bmp".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\mssvr.exe".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\2020Search.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\2020Search.inf".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\2020search2.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If 2020Search uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

• Delete the registry value "{4E1075F4-EEC4-4a86-ADD7-CD5F52858C31}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".
• Delete the registry key "2020Installation" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
• Delete the registry key "2020Search" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
• Delete the registry key "&RSDN Search" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\".
• Delete the registry key "{FC2493D6-A673-49FE-A2EE-EFE03E95C27C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{FC3A74E5-F281-4F10-AE1E-733078684F3C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "GoRSDN.ContextItem", plus associated values.
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "GoRSDN.ContextItem.1", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{02CB16D1-4CA7-47FF-8546-C5E925DF33D6}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{EAF2CCEE-21A1-4203-9F36-4929FD104D43}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
• Delete the registry key "{E306B3C1-3C68-4EFA-9EBC-0B99C6A918C2}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• References to the file "2020Search.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
• References to the file "2020Search.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
• Delete the registry key "{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-92C6-CE7EB590A94D}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry value "{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-92C6-CE7EB590A94D}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\".
• Delete the registry value "{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-92C6-CE7EB590A94D}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".

If 2020Search uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.
