Description:

This spyware installs in background as a browser helper object and secretly connects to its website when the Internet Explorer is started.
It transmits data without informing or asking the user.

Removal Instructions:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ATPartners.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ofrg.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\SYSTEM\m3tsp8.dll".
• The file at "<$WINDIR>\lzw.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\lzw.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\mpz300.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\trk.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ZZ.dll".
• The file at "<$SYSDIR>\aess2.dll".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If VX2.e.Favoriteman uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

• Delete the registry key "FavoriteMan" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
• Delete the registry key "FavoriteMan.1" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
• Delete the registry key "{139D88E5-C372-469D-B4C5-1FE00852AB9B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{139D88E5-C372-469D-B4C5-1FE00852AB9B}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• Delete the registry key "{000000F1-34E3-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• References to the file "ofrg.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Favorite.FavoriteMan", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{00000EF1-34E3-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
• A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "F1.Organizer", plus associated values.
• Delete the registry key "{00000EF1-34E3-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{EF100607-F409-426A-9E7C-CB211F2A9030}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
• Delete the registry key "{00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
• Delete the registry key "{EF100007-F409-426A-9E7C-CB211F2A9786}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".

If VX2.e.Favoriteman uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
