Thanx drragostea!!
I thought I had seen some screenshots of v2.0 somewhere, WildersSecurity forums maybe.
Are there any on this site?
Excuse my asking.
Can I find Spybot v2.0 alpha anywhere to test it?
I don't know, I currently use Vista Ultimate 32bit without SP1, but I guess there won't be any problems :)
Well I think the title speaks for its self! Are there any known issues?
I plan a clean Vista + SP1 install and I would really like to know if installing SpyBot S&D will cause me any problems :)
...
I apologise! Although I never depend on System Restore, it is much better to keep a clean image of your pc :)
Why not even give Dr.Web CureIt a try.
Let it run a fast scan first and then choose a custom scan on your hard disk.
Disable system restore points and run a Spybot scan again in Safe Mode with no Internet connection.
Run also an antivirus scan. What are you currently using?
Oh I guess the original poster is me
I removed the damn things, nothing bad happened, so I suppose it is safe :)
I was impressed by the results when selecting "Check All Files". But is it really really safe to delete them? They all are registry entries and I am a bit touchy when it comes to registry!
Take a...
Perhaps different version of IE, firefox, opera, or non existent browsers etc
Wow, that was great! Thank you very much :)
If I go SpyBot S&D -> Advanced mode -> Tools -> Resident and uncheck teatimer it is disabled, BUT on Windows Security Center it says:
"SpyBot S&D is temporarily off" and it has a yellow colour
...
I was about to ask this too :fear:
I didn't quite understand, is the problem solved now?
Does the pc still reboot or does it BSoD?
I think the pc has some viruses, SB is not an antivirus, but apparently it detects an item related to the virus, virus reacts, kaboum.
Did you run an antivirus scan?
If not, I suggest you...
Yep fix worked great. Congrats to all the SB team members
At about 8 hours from now!
Peace brothers!
@PepiMK when will be the new database available to update? (Hope you won't come onto me now :p:, ok j/k!)
Hopefully not, as the is issue is going to be fixed :)
Wow so this actually works great, I've always had it to "Block all pages silently" mode and couldn't ever watch it in action :)
I can verify the error too, just updated Spybot and SpywareBlaster has a problem with firefox.
Here is a printscreen!
Using Vista Ultimate here, but I don't think the OS is the issue, SB just...
CCleaner is very good!
An uninstallation and reinstallation together, will take about 3 minutes!
Try it when you have time. I would be frustrated if an error popped-up every now and then.
Best...
Well I guess disabling the TeaTimer would cause the error not to pop-up, but that isn't really a good sollution is it? :red:
Go Mode -> Advanced Mode -> Tools -> Resident -> uncheck the second box...
Even with TeaTimer disabled? That is not possible.
Do you have any other kind of resident protection?
Yeah Comodo alerts can be a bit terrifying some times.
"Interprocess Memory Access" goes on with "parent application teatimer.exe wants to take over explorer.exe, which is a common practice for...
I'm using Comodo Firewall so what exactly do you mean by "taking control of explorer.exe" ?
If you mean "Interprocess Memory Access of explorer.exe", then it's a tottaly cool case.
It's just...
I would also reccomend Comodo Firefall Pro for a firewall which is tottaly free!
If you're happy with it, keep it!
Think of SpyBot S&D as a supplement :)
What software are you currently on?
I think it's not bad keeping any software which is not real-time.
Never heard of it either!
If you want good trusted FREE realtime anti-spyware/anti-malware products, I suggest:
Spybot S&D with TeaTimer
Spyware Terminator (without WebSecurityGuard and Crawler...
Why don't you try clearing all the snapshots files?
That means deleting everything in folder C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Snapshots2\
Then launch TeaTimer again.
Cool!!
Thanx a lot! :)
Not of much importance of course, but I think there should be a choice (checking/unchecking a box) whether one would like the icon to show or not.
Now the icon is shown by default in System Tray,...
I'm not using TeaTimer, but I immunize with SpyBot S&D, SpywareBlaster and Spyware Terminator.
With previous versions of SpyBot, a scan would give me like 5-10 firefox browser cookies to remove....
I think this list is for the hundreds of sites the cookies of which should be blocked.
I believe the bug isn't in Spybot. I've checked almost every hidden file and registry entry of Spybot and didn't come up with anything related to a certain browser.
I think when uninstalling Opera...
Let it run! It's safe.

You can disable TeaTimer, SpyBot S&D -> Advanced -> Tools -> Resident -> uncheck the TeaTimer box.
But do you get these notices when you're installing or updating sth?
Because that's probably the...
Yep, that's the Immunize feature. It protects you from dangerous sites by changing the HOSTS file.
Nothing to worry about :)
I suggest you keep TeaTimer. It saved me once from a BHO, which was trojan!
The way it works -taking snapshots to compare previous with current state- makes it reliable.
I also like it being...
I even deleted the reg files in C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Snapshots2\ folder and rebooted, just to cause teatimer to create new snapshots of the registry.
But it didn't help either!
Yeah man, no problem, I thank you for the answers :)
30mb of ram is not a lot when having 2gb of ram, but what the heck? it's only a real-time application!
I have only one blocked registry change, I don't think it can be the cause of 30mb ram usage :P
I have tried doing a complete uninstall and reinstall, but didn't work either.
I thought it was a...
My regards from Greece!
Same problem here, 30mb of ram.
I'm using Avast! AV and Comodo Firewall PRO.
