Can someone tell me if it is possible (and where to) scan an external hard drive for viruses etc. attached to my acer11 chromebook?

cant get it ether way or either account. cant get msconfig.exe either

if i start in safe mode i can access device manager. i saw the network adapter (pcie family controller) section was open bforehand. if i uninstall it will it reinstall on reboot automatically...

device manager acts the same either acct. and i cant call cmd as admin either
cmd doesnt come back as a search in admin acct. and search doesnt even recognize the word cmd

no real performance...

device manager tree view stil expanding and contracting rhythmically under my computers name yuanshen.
