4 minutes - still no winamp

I don't have a copy of Win 7 handy, but I can get one tomorrow.

It booted to Windows but it's still doggin.

Tried to run winamp after a reboot and so far I have been waiting 2 minutes or so.

"failed to connect to a windows service. windows could not connect to the system event notification service..."

It rebooted and ran chkdsk fairly quickly. Get this - it said the volume was clean. That's a relief!

Now it's taking its usual 8 minutes to start up.

At some point do I just format and...

On it. Is it OK if I run further tests in safe mode? It's still running slow, but barely tolerable.

OK - it ran successfully. WHere is the log file kept? Tough to search right now - still slow as molasses.

It ran but then it locked up. And I don't think I allowed the update. Never got a log.
