It seems to have resolved itself.

Via taskmanager, I closed the multiple tasks it caused to run gobbling up resources and deleted it but after a few hours it came back. This happened a few times....

A thought. I am using Windows 8, would simply reverting to an earlier restore point cure it?

When running a scan with v2 (W8) my whole system stops at the point checking for Cydor and I have to pull the plug and restart.

I have no problem if I revert to 1.6.

Any thoughts please?

If immunization is not supported for Chrome I may as well run 1.6 for that purpose and 2.0 for scanning etc.

Thanks but I believe 'Run as Admin' is a feature specific to Vista. It isn't an option in XP. Nor is COMMAND COM. But I operate as admin anyway.

Not so. I started using SpyHunter about two/three years ago when having a problem with TrojanVundo. Spybot was reporting it but not clearing it. SpyHunter had the same problem but their tech help...

However, how come SpyBot prevents access to the Enigma website without giving me the option.
