Via taskmanager, I closed the multiple tasks it caused to run gobbling up resources and deleted it but after a few hours it came back. This happened a few times....
A thought. I am using Windows 8, would simply reverting to an earlier restore point cure it?
Thanks. Am away tomorrow but will do when I get back.
I seem to have inadvertently acquired this in the last few days.
I have deleted it a couple of times from Program data/windows_os(c)/ProgramData/NetworkHostTask but it comes back again. SpyBot...
Ran 4 times with 2.0.
Now updated to 2.1 and all OK.
Puzzling.
When running a scan with v2 (W8) my whole system stops at the point checking for Cydor and I have to pull the plug and restart.
I have no problem if I revert to 1.6.
Any thoughts please?
Many thanks.
I meant is there any reason why I should not simply run 2.0 for scanning and run 1.6 for immunization?
But you say immunisation for Chrome isn't supported in either version?
What about IE10?
Thanks.
If immunization is not supported for Chrome I may as well run 1.6 for that purpose and 2.0 for scanning etc.
Can you see any downside to that?
I am using Chrome.
Both 1.6 and 2.0 are installed now. I have never uninstalled 2.0
How do I upload a screenshot.
I did a printscreen and pasted it into word but the uploader won't accept .doc...
Just run v 2.0 attached and new log.
Tried to attach screen capture before and after but couldn't upload .doc files.
I could only find one entry for the above. I don't know if it realtes to 1.6 or 2.0.
I had to convert it to .txt as .log won't upload
Sorry for the delay in getting back.
I ran 2.0 only for a couple of months before I realised there was something odd.
I then downloaded 1.6 and tried it and got this different result.
Yes for v1.6 and v2.
64bit
But why should 1.6 be different to 2?
I have recently installed V2 with Windows8
When I come to Immunise it shows 4 columns.
Unprocessed with values

When my son used Spybot to remove sweetim his email (OE) and Messenger collapsed.
I was not involved in the recovery but I gather that it was not an insignificant process
Service name : - Application Updater

The 'run as administrator' is it seems not relevant to XP (which I am running).
I have updated to the test version of SpyBot and still get the message. It still does not change on a reboot. I have...

Sorry I haven't posted but have been in hospital. I'm sorted now but the problem with widgi still exists.
SpyBot reports it. Says it will remove it after a restart but doesn't.
Any further...
Thanks but I believe 'Run as Admin' is a feature specific to Vista. It isn't an option in XP. Nor is COMMAND COM. But I operate as admin anyway.
Thanks.
Sorry for not replying sooner
I run a scan every week. Last week it reported Widgi.toolbar as a problem. I ticked to fix (together with a couple of other red items). It repored that it could not remove everything but would do...
Thanks. I'll give them a try in a couple of days when I get back from holiday.
I haven't downloaded any special toolbars and it doesn't appear in Add/Remove

However I tried to click 'start' so that I could 'stop' it but it gave an error saying 'Cannot find the path specified'
There is also a another...

I ran Spybot yesterday and it reported Widgi as a problem. When I clicked fix it removed some other problems but reported that it couldn't remove one entry but would do so on restart.

Does Tea Timer or the resident BHO work in 1.6-2 when using Chrome?
Incidentally, why did the McAfee message appear? I thought they were part of the ACS also. They appear on the ACS mambership list.
The McAfee issue has been sorted. Thanks.
However the original problem remains.
In 'Settings'/'Ignore Cookies' I have a number of cookies checked to 'be ignored during the browser scan'....

Thanks for your response

Yes and yes.
Have just run S&D again but it still picks up a McAfee registry entry as a problem. Where can I check it to ignore it?
Incidentally I see that in Revision.sbi Cdilla is checked....
I use the facility to save 'wanted' cookies bu checking the ones I want to save.
When I have finished the scan I only ever get one issue highlighted. That is related to McAfee. I don't wish to...
I have unistalled, downloaded and reinstalled. The unwanted cookies are still there.
Incidentally, no problems are reported except one relating to McAfee. I uncheck this and the 'fix selected...
I have just noticed the same issue. I click 'Scan for Problems'.
Is it coincidence but I recently switched to IE8 ?
Thanks. Glad it is sorted
I have downloaded and installed the current version. I have downloaded the updates and run the Immunization process.
I have just checked my HOSTS file and see that Spybot has made a large number...
OK thanks.
But can/should I delete all the SpyBot entries from the HOSTS file or simply the ones relating to Enigma?
Yes I know how to do updates.
But if I download 162.exe directly will it not include the updates?
Or should I reinstall from the 162.exe I have and then download the updates ?
Thanks
The Home site indicates that 1.6.2 is the latest version. Should I simply download that version from the website as I uninstalled a few days ago whilst trying to sort out the problem.
Can/should I...
Not so. I started using SpyHunter about two/three years ago when having a problem with TrojanVundo. Spybot was reporting it but not clearing it. SpyHunter had the same problem but their tech help...
However, how come SpyBot prevents access to the Enigma website without giving me the option.
Has the situation changed re SpyBot & SpyHunter?
Have SpyBot made any changes to the software ? It now seems to have altered my HOSTS file to prevent access to the Enigma Website.
I believe SpyHunter is no longer on the list
Isn't this all out of date. Enigma Software (not just SpyHunter) is used by many multinationals these days. I have had my people do some serious investigations into them and can find no evidence of...

I posted a question re SpyHunter a day or two ago. You referred me to an old (2006/7) thread which did not address my question re whether SpyHunter should still be considered to be malware.

I recently had to reinstall Spybot because of a system failure. When I rebooted my PC I found the SpyHunter.exe had been removed.
I have now reistalled and set Spybot to permit SpyHunter to work.
