Ok, ignore the above post, I have managed to get the client to see the updates on the intranet server, I had to register .ini file type as a MIME (text/plain) so that IIS could serve the file....

We're trying to use the Spybot Intranet Update Server for our corporate network....
I wouldn't worry about Symantec! From what I've read M$ are going after them, I read somewhere that one or the other was planning a law suit. M$ are releasing OneCare, which will compete directly...
