I to had the same problem arise. Also 64 bit Windows 7. What do we do? Make the jump to version 2.0? Please tell because I love Spybot 1.6.2 with TeaTimer.

I had the same problem at first. Try undo , uninstall, then re-install. That worked for me, although I still went back to 1.6.2 because of Tea-Timer. Hope this helps. Spybot plays nice with the stuff...
