I also use an older operating system (Windows Me) and encountered some problems when I moved to Version 1.6...:oops:

This is what I did; I went to Add/Remove Programs and found...

For grins and giggles I located 'hostperm.1 to the same directories that Spybot had insisted on creating the 'permissions.sqlite' files and then deleted the latter files... :eek:

I restarted...

I did a complete uninstall of Spybot S&D and reinstalled version 1.6.0.30...

After installing I downloaded and installed all available updates...

I attempted to immunize but half of the things...

Here's something you might try:

Download a copy of Version 1.6 to a separate folder on your hard drive; uninstall Version 1.5; reboot your system; then install that Version 1.6...
