Thanks for the info. I see the manual update file has been updated today. It never was updated for 8 April for some reason.
I second this. The update page shows that new definitions have been updated for 4/8/15 but the manual definitions update file is still dated 4/1/15.
Thanks. Apparently they were just delayed. I thought maybe they would be released a day late again like last Wednesday.
Are the 1.6 definitions updates delayed again?
None of the mirrors/servers were displayed as the error occurred after a long delay as Spybot updater was searching (with the moving flashlight icon). It recurred several times after I reloaded...
Without any changes to my IE proxy or firewall settings, Spybot updater now works normally. The problem was on your server side as I suspected.
Thank you for your prompt reply but I do not believe those are the causes of this problem. I have not changed any IE proxy or firewall settings but I will doublecheck just to be sure. BTW, I'm using...
I just received a "Error retrieving update info file!" error message after Spybot updater searched for updates for a very long time. This is the first time this has ever happened. I presume there's...
I don't understand your problem(s). That referenced thread gives detailed exact info on how to get Spybot to detect and immunize Opera. Read it carefully.
Starting with the 25 July 2012 definitions from 2 weeks ago, I now get an "invalid page fault" Windows error while loading Spybot 1.6.2. Strangely enough, Spybot still continues to load and appears...

Just wanted to thank you for the excellent technical info. :)
@lewisje, et al.
I found that 3 cookies items couldn't be immunized with the latest (delayed) definitions released today even after repeated attempts. Did anyone else have the same experience?...
Great job! It looks spot on. I didn't realize that it updated ActiveX Kill Bits. I periodically load the AKB updates from Microsoft as they release them.
@Gopher John:
opera6.ini is a holdover...
I believe you. I don't know why Spybot is doing that. It's been very quirky and flaky as you know from the hacks and workarounds required to make it work with Opera.
And I have no plans to install...
Interesting. It appears to depend on your CPU and overall system speed. Spybot has apparently been making a strong effort to reduce load times probably via definitions optimization. Their definition...
lewisje is correct - 9 new Opera immunizations but nothing else.
Per my earlier referenced thread, Spybot does immunize Opera files (urlfilter.ini, etc.) if opera6.ini is in the main Opera...
Glad it helped. I wish Spybot would just reference that thread for a fairly simple workaround instead of always giving their canned scripted reply to Opera immunization problems.

You should take a look at this thread http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=58535
Those are the default installation folders for Opera, at least since version 10. I see they retained them for...
I don't fully understand your problem. I don't see the "delete cookies on exit" checkbox that you referenced in Opera. There is a "delete NEW cookies when exiting Opera" checkbox. What version of...
Hm, that's interesting but it's not the root cause of the problem since as you initially stated in posting this thread, Spybot was still able to detect and immunize Opera until the July 14...
Good work, lewisje! I first verified that Spybot still didn't detect Opera after the latest 7/21/10 definitions update with all of the configuration files in the \profile subdirectory. I then...
Hmm that's interesting. I don't have a Vista machine to test but I did move all Opera files on my other computer to the \profile subdirectory and Spybot still didn't detect the Opera installation as...
That's a good idea. I just tried it and confirmed that Spybot didn't detect Opera. I assume the only two files required are cookies4.dat and urlfilter.ini. I didn't mention that coincidentally or...
Yeah I don't think they get it either, lewisje. So if I understand you right, you keep copies of Opera files in the \profile subdirectory where Spybot apparently looks for them, and this has...
I'm following up on lewisje's post because coincidentally I was about to ask the very same question. I noticed that Spybot would not detect and immunize Opera 10.xx if its files (cookies4.dat,...
