Thanks. That's all I really need to know.
Searched the forums & nothing found - so here goes:
Every week I update Spybot (version 1.6.2.0, sys settings protector 1.6.6.32). After downloading the update I Immunize and then reboot.
The...

If you read through the thread above (and yes I know it's getting long, but there's a reason for that!) you might get some ideas or be able to...
Yes, I did the most aggressive uninstall, followed it with CCleaner which picked up some remaining keys and then manually rooted through the registry for any remaining bits (there were a couple).

@ Ras: a little unfair, don't you think? Buster (Member Team Spybot) has been suggesting a lot of things to try and is obviously working to figure it out.
A contribution would be to try running...

If you read through the thread above you'll see that you're not alone. You might even find a solution.
Good luck.
Sorry, I didn't mean to infer that you hadn't done your homework. I meant to suggest that you read all the posts in that thread so that you would get the picture as it's developed thus far....

See the above thread. Lots of people have encountered the problem recently. I'll bet that your contribution to the solution might help. Read all...
Oh, and if it's helpful, Date Created for the .dll is 07/08/2009 4:08AM, but I think that refers to the time I did the re-install. I could be wrong. It's happened before.
I didn't do so manually from any site and, carelessly I neglected to check the dates of the updates I downloaded when I did the re-install.
If the new advcheck.dll was downloaded as part of the...
Yes, Buster. I ran twice before re-booting, no errors. I re-booted and have now run it 6 times with no errors.
Does it make any sense to you?
Hi all, especially Buster, who has worked so hard on this.
I hate to throw a spanner in the works, but this is what I did and why and what happened.
Working with Buster, I had changed a few...
Don't know about that RAS.
Got to go to hospital (really, this is giving me the plotz).
I'll check back in about 6-7 hours.
OK, thanks. I think I understand now.
Sorry Buster, no luck. I turned off Teatimer, closed S&D, ran the 1.6.2 advcheck.exe, then a scan. Same error.
I rebooted, ran again. Same error.
I disconnected from the net, turned off My NIS...
OK, my last attempt, previous post didn't work. I'll undo what I've done, shut down TeaTimer/Spybot and try again. I'll get back to you after I walk the dog (his priority, not mine!).
Well, I tried that, but unfortunately, we're not there yet. The same errors came up after running Spybot. I did move the advcheck163.exe and advcheck163.zip into a temp file before executing the .exe...
Ok, I did that Buster. The Error reports (both "The instruction at; etc." and the "Runtime error 216") did not come up.
My usage tracks were revealed, I shut down - no error reports.
Hmmmm.
[To make sure that this is not just a coincidence, please give it a try and report in. :thanks:[/QUOTE]
No luck, Buster. I deactivated the Trojans.sbi, ran a scan twice and got the same error...
After todays update (05 Aug) I noted that my error after closing SBot changed to 'instruction at 0x06db40c2' vice 0x06cf40c2 and referenced memory at 0x0705e060 vice 0x0698de68' and the Runtime error...
29 July I updated both my computers within moments of each other from SecurityWonks.net#1(USA).
One computer exhibits the problem discussed, the other does not. So - I don't think it's a mirror...

Hey Dugie, check the link to the other thread. Lots of people seem to be having the same problem since the 29 July update.
Regards.
Well, the problems back again, only now it reads: The instruction at "06CF40C2" referenced memory at "0x0698de68". The memory could not be "read", followed by "Runtime error 216 at 06CF40C2".
I...
I had similar error messages after the 29 July SBot update. They haven't reappeared after a reboot, but I noticed something odd:
After the update downloaded, SBot closed by itself, an old style...
 I did it again. Sorry. Again.
Aaaach, sorry. Hit the wrong button. Je m'excuse.
OK, if the only solution (assuming I have a problem. Maybe SD Resident is supposed to display as it does) is to uninstall and reinstall, I'll do it. I would appreciate it if an expert were to tell me...
To start - I have two computers - both as follows: XP Home SP3, Intel Core2 Duo @ 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, IE8, Spybot S&D 1.6.2.46. One contains many more programs/processes than the other.
I note that on...
Thanks for the answer. I had tried to search the forum for that very issue, but I guess my search parameters were unsatisfactory.
I agree with you and look forward to the next build. I still am...
Any Takers?
I fear that my initial post may have been misunderstood.
I pointed out the upward 'creep' of RAM usage by TeaTimer.exe with intent to determine whether or not others had noticed this phenomenon...
Yes, I'm aware that, "memory consumption of a (refers to any) can slightly increase."
As such I do reboot quite frequently. That said, the problem remains that with each new update, TeaTimer RAM...
I've been using SB S&D for a few years and note that TeaTimer RAM usage is 'creeping' up. With the 22 July update it increased from an average of 88 MB RAM to an average of 91 MB RAM on both of my...
