SURE!
In case anyone is interested, the URL which infected my PC was:
http://h3jzwawdlrn99fsv2cy.usercash.com/
I was looking for an image to use as album art on my Zune and one of
the Google image...
Moving from another thread which was in the wrong forum.
I got infected by Spyware Protect 2009 (SP9).
Tried to run Spybot, but SP9 had corrupted Spybot.
(I hadn't seen this forum, so didn't...
I'll give that a try... maybe try renaming Spybot too and see if the
same trick will work for that issue (if it works for HJT).
It'd be nice if there was an executable version of Spybot on a link...
Still messed up.
I did a right click on "My Computer" and chose "scan with spybot"...
it must've found something because my system shut down part way
into the scan.
Still can't istall or run...
Well, I went and did that, but don't see it as something effective.
Didn't really even make me feel all that much better.
I sent them the URL which I got the "Spyware Protect 2009" Malware

I can't install HJT or Spybot anymore - the Malware was intercepting
installation attempts (sometimes during downloading).
I ran McAfee...
I guess so.
I don't see how avatars would be much different.
If someone posted an inappropriate one, I'm sure the admin would
be noted by whoever thought it offensive... so I doubt that is the...
There are some counterfeits out there.
"Spybot 2009" almost got me!
Maybe Spybot's owners should go after them for copyright infringement.
I wish our government would stop wasting time on...
How about allowing a user to submit an image (like an animated .gif) to a
moderator, and the moderator would put it someplace on a server, and then
give the user the URL for it... and then the...
Thanks.
I'll get back to y'all (in a new thread) if I can't get rid of it...
my wife checked with her I.T. person at work, and he's gonna
loan her a CDRom with something that he thinks will help....
I got hit by it, and now Spybot won't even install.
I followed direction on cleaning my registry, killing processes, etc.
and ran "Hijack This" as well, but still no dice.
I'm not getting...
