Can't connect to Paypal or Amazon

First post here, I hope i give enough information!

My browser won't let me connect to Paypal or Amazon, and a couple of other sites too. ThHis has been ongoing for a while, but only just got time to try and sort it out. I have up to date Norton Security, have scanned etc. Used Hijack This and managed to regain my internet options through it, 'cos that had gone as well. I've tried everything I can, to no avail.

I need these two sites on a daily basis, and have had to use an office machine instead of my own laptop to access!

I saw someone on here with similar problem, and solution, so my hopes are raised and fingers crossed. ANy help gratefully received!

Welcome to the forum, It appears since I see no antivirus scan results, you missed this information which is Pinned to the top of the forum:

Review those instructions, but wait for the scan, I may need it later and will let you know.

Not being a user of either site, I am not sure how good their security is but it may be picking up the fact you have this worm and be blocking you?

Symantec is offering a free removal tool, give it a try, since that is your Antivirus provider, follow the directions here:

When you are finished with that, do this:
Move HJT from the Desktop for safety. I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm

Then follow these directions, make sure you delete or at least quarantine anything the program locates and save the scan report.
